    If I set a mark into the wordpress option to open a new tab in a link, the link will be opened in the old tab.
    It is in posts of total as well as in plugins as wpforo or The Event Calendar of Modern Tribe.
    I guess it´s an issue of total. Can you help?

    The WordPress does not have feature to open the link in new tab at all.

    It will require change in code to make it open in new tab.

    Thanks Keymaster for answering. But I can´t understand the answer. If I mark the box “Link in einem neuen Tab öffnen” it can´t be stored, while in other themes it can.

    I marked the box “open link in a new tab” and saved it, which seems to be successful.

    But now open the link Wikipedia at the end of page

    https://www.2punkt4.online/die-klasse/

    It will be opened in the same tab.

    Hi,

    The process is correct and it should work. Please try again by disabling all the plugins. May be some of the plugin used is not making it to work.

    I found the reason. Plugin wp-accessability made trouble. After deactivating it works.
