    I’d like to make the transparent ribbon at the top of the page longer to incorporate my navigational links because I’ve added my social network links at the primary menu location but this has shifted them down the page a bit. Also I’d like to adjust the darkness of the ribbon colour to make the text stand out. Preferably the same look as when you scroll down the page. How am I able to do this?

    Seems like you have done few changes in CSS with the website. It might break the responsive of the website. Also direct edit in the main theme file can get loss in the theme updates.
