    Hi,
    I feel stupid asking this question. But if I want to change the title tag of my site for SEO purposes, do I change the “Site Title” in Customize/Appearance/Site Logo, Title, & Tagline?

    I wanted a more descriptive title tag for SEO, so I changed the Site Title. That seemed to work but also changed my site’s name in the WordPress Dashboard (upper left-hand corner by the home icon/button.

    Here’s my site, if you can help.

    I’m a newbie, so please be kind.

    Hi,

    Yes, in order to change the meta title and description of the website for SEO purposes, you need to change the Site Title for Meta Title and Site Tagline for Meta Description.
